The Speakeasy- Celebrating the Spirits of the 1920's

Posted by: Kellsie ForbesThursday June 21st, 2012 @ 7:16pm

Smashing Glasses organized this classy event at The Tofino Botanical Gardens featuring 3 of the best bars from Vancouver. Thanks to The Keefer Bar, Calabash Bistro and the Pourhouse for coming to Tofino and indulging us with their cocktail creations. Local restaurant Spotted Bear Bistro provided us with tasty delights to snack on as the fun roared into the late hours! This was part of the FEAST! Tofino festival- look for it next May 2013.

We are Oceangybe supporters!

Posted by: Kellsie ForbesSunday April 1st, 2012 @ 1:04pm

Smashing Glasses is a proud supporter of Oceangybe, a group of local guys who sailed around the world to explore, research and promote awareness around the impact of plastics in our oceans. "We are surfers, sailors, and explorers and our adventure is a voyage of exploration, research, and education. Our dream to circumnavigate the globe to document the state of the oceans and beaches we visit, search out the best waves and meet new people has become reality." They have completed this adventure and now are creating a film to share with everyone about what they found.

Open Doors- Feast!

Posted by: Kellsie ForbesWednesday May 18th, 2011 @ 11:31am

This was an exquisite event organzied by Sheila Orchiston, of Rare Earth Wedding Event Production. Two beautiful B&B's on Chesterman Beach, Brimar and Cathie's Cottage, opened their doors to host 3 groups of feasters throughout the evening.

Each group was led between the venues by a guide to enjoy live music (Ron Weeks, Joel Gray, Chris Dolfin and Duncan Booth), local artists displaying their work (Lisa Fletcher, Daniela Petosa, Marla Thirsk, Julie Robinson and Sabine Hotz) and chefs from Addictive Foods, Shelter Restaurant and Trilogy Fish Co. providing divine dishes of local seafood. Smashing Glasses provided a 'beach bar' with fresh crab and oyster shucking with Bobby Lax, and topped of with a keg from our fine Tofino Brewery. It was an exceptional night and another great Feast! event.
